Stepper motor and its applications and uses

What is a stepper motor and Whats its applications and uses?
A stepper motor is a “digital” version of the electric motor Its a brushless DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps. The motor's position can then be commanded to move and hold at one of these steps without any feedback.

Stepper motors can use, whereever you want controlled rotation or precise angular motion. Pulse are the input given to it. By controlling pulse width, you get controlled motions. Using microcontrollers, you control thr input pulse duration, duty cycle, period , etc so that you get precised speed, or angle. By the rating of motor, get required torque or load for application. I think for full rotation, good load stepper is preferred. But not that much speed for less than 360 degrees, means for faster angular motions servo motors are good by trade off load.
Stepper motors are used infloppy disk drives, flatbed scanners,computer printers, plotters, slot machines,image scanners, compact disc drives,intelligent lighting, camera lenses, CNC machines and, more recently, in 3D printers.

    1. Stepper Motor Control Using Programmed 8051 Microcontroller.
      Sun Tracking Solar Panel project is intended to generate the maximum amount of energy by automatically adjusting the solar panel. In this project, a stepper motor controlled by a programmed microcontroller of 8051 family is interfaced to the solar panel to maintain the solar panels’ face always perpendicular to the sun.
      The programmed microcontroller generates stepped electrical pulses at regular intervals to the stepper motor for rotating the solar panel. The driver IC is used to drive the stepper motor as the controller is unable to provide the power requirements of the motor.
